On August 26th, 2010, the Ministry of Environment is holding public consultation on the draft Strategy of Environmental Protection Policy of Ukraine till 2020.

The draft Strategy needs substantial revision, experts say from think-tank center “Society and Environment”. Proposed principles do not comply with the national legislation in force, European approximation issues are reflected sporadically, little attention is given to international cooperation in environmental issues, envisaged improvements of legislation are not comprehensive.
